If you are new to TDC and didn’t know — well lets just say I love me some good ol’ typography — I come from a traditional print design background where layout and typefaces were used more flexibly. With (more) recent advances in web technologies and real font integration services, such as Typekit, the web has definitely become a more beautiful and interesting place aesthetically.

I’ll admit the fonts and type used in these websites is pretty cool, but the designs didn’t really speak to me too much. Sure they were well designed but I didn’t really feel they were grabbing me.

Beautiful sites for certain, but do you have an idea of how effective they are? Design is definitely important, but there needs to be a “so what?” of it all. Not to pick on any in particular, but it seems like there is a lack of actionable items in some places.

wonderful, wonderful sites. these pages are so clean and delightful. the typography really enhances their appearance. if you like most of the fonts found on these pages, check out the typography forum http://www.pilo.me, it can really get you started or headed in the right direction in finding and identifying a lot of the fonts featured on these pages. keep in my it’s an invite only forum, but i think it is currently open to new registrations, you might check. anyhow, it is definitely a worthwhile site to spend a few hours.

Awesome collection Brian! I know how difficult it is to search the internet for good stuff. I actually found some sites that I hadn’t seen before. I love to see the works of other designers… it’s inspiring to see the out pour of creativity in these sites; something I hope to do with mine.
