For the past 2 week, I have been working hard on putting together an actual logo for The Design Cubicle, instead of the previous plain text header. I wanted a mark that was memorable and represented the ‘cubicle’ concept. Also, the goal was to have the logo compliment the clean, modern and ‘open’ look of the website and work at all sizes, since it was to be used for my favicon.
I will be posting the creative process for the new logo this week - including my sketchbook drawings down to the finalization stages. Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out.

The website also underwent some minor changes, which you can see in the navigation bar and meta areas (where the comment and published date appear on each post). I also improved the readability of TDC by increasing the font size - no more eye straining! I hope you all enjoy the new changes.
Thanks to everyone who helped critique the new logo while it was still in the making. Your feedback and help was invaluable!

The new logo looks really great. I see a hint of “DC” in there as well, which only adds to the effect. Really sharp, clean, and sophisticated.

I’m glad you like the new logo, it means a lot! And yes, the “DC” is in there.
I love the new logo Brian and look forward to learning more about your process.
Hi Brian,
I can’t really remember what you had before, but I’m sure your new logo will prove much more memorable. I enjoy its simplicity. Nice work.
Oh, and looks great as a favicon.

Thanks for the comment, it means a lot to me that so many people are approving it. Before I was using a typeface with the site name, so it wasn’t really a logo before. I wanted a mark to represent the site instead.
