Design Resources Search Engine
The Design Resources Search Engine is a Google-eske search engine that spits back design related results. For example, if you type in the word “flower” in the search box, a few of the tops results that came back were ‘Creating a flower with the Pen Tool’ and ‘Illustrator How-To: Create Surreal Flowers’.
How does it work?
Pretty cool huh? But who does it do that? It is linked to some of the top design blogs and tutorial websites (see the more or less complete list) and search through their content.
You can even submit any (or your own) website that you feel should be included in their list.
How can I do this?
Complimentary of your good friends over at Google, they had made it possible through Google Custom Search Engine
You can create a search engine that suits your needs:
- Include one website, multiple websites, or specific webpages
- Host the search box and results on your own website
- Customize the colors and branding to match your existing webpages
- And a heck lot more…

For anybody that wants to create their own custom search engine, be aware that since Google also provides a paying custom search engine service, the free version has restrictions and search results are not always 100% accurate.
But that doesn’t mean that my search engine is not useful ! I encourage you to go check it out!
